The Centre is also working at regional level by working under state plan projects which will further strengthen the research and extension activities for cocoa. About 20 projects have already been been taken up by the Cocoa Research Centre, Vellanikkara. The ongoing projects include strengthening of production of quality planting material of cocoa, refining of primary processing in cocoa and indentifying Phytophthora resistant working germplasm from the available germplams at the Centre.
